Beautiful image of Schleicher ASK-21 Serial #: 21703. I like the image of Mt Fuji too as I was stationed in Japan in 1967-68,

I was a flight surgeon for 3 different KC-135 squadrons. Started at Grissom AFB in the A model and finished at Meridian ANG in the R model.

Loved flyig that airplane.. Am so grateful for my hiring date at my airline allowing me to skipper it for over 20 years! What a blessing…

There is an 'honesty' about carrier A/C...maybe it's the strength...like they say..'Grumman Iron Works.'

They can "slow flight"! Alaska (1990)...moderate ceiling...cool Cherokee flight. Looked over my right shoulder and 2 Thunderbolts were in formation and trailing my right wing, gear and flaps down. Got my attention! Pilots saluted, sucked it up and were gone. What an experience...there should be a law of having so much fun!

I agree with William, a totally awesome shot.

I was there last year for that airshow. Sadly, there was one aircraft that didn't fly that I would have loved to see fly. There even was a special, unexpected flyover before the flying activities began. I believe it was a C-54 that was supposedly used during the Berlin Airlift (my memory is a bit foggy). I still am amazed at how large some of those aircraft are.

Photos may have been taken from a C-130 with the ramp lowered and the photographer looking aft and down.

Military Aviation Museum is one of the best... They have a great selection of FLYING WWI and WWII aircraft and on dirt strip to boot.. So lucky it's about a 45 minute drive for me...

Can't see anyone wanting to change the colors of AF-1 .... Especially the 747 version.... Anyone in the world recognizes it.

Muy original la pintura del avión, atrevida, llama la atención, un buen trabajo. Llegué a pensar a primera vista que era aun avión de traslado de presos de EEUU.
Felicidades a Condor.

2 DAYS AND IT'S STILL ON THERE. IS THERE ANYONE AT HOME IN FLIGHTAWARE?

Written on 09/10/2025 by Brian Wilkes

Terrible news! VMC in the context of aviation meteorology stands for Visual Meteorological Conditions. But the same acronym has a totally different meaning when it comes to maintaining control of a multi engined a/c which has just suffered an engine failure. Alphabet soup!
